Two Ancient Stone Walls Repatriated From France
These stolen walls were once parts of an ancient Egyptian priest’s tomb, which was discovered inside a 4,200-year-old cemetery.

Two ancient walls, which were once part of an ancient priest’s tomb before being smuggled out of Egypt, have successfully been repatriated from France.
The artefacts were parts of the facade of ancient Egyptian priest Haw Nefar’s tomb. The priest had held a prestigious position under the reign of King Pepy I, the third king of Egypt’s Sixth Dynasty.
The priest’s tomb was found in a 4,200-year-old cemetery in south Saqqara’s Tabet Al-Gish, which had been discovered by an archaeological team from the French Institute of Oriental Archaeology.
