Two Cities in Northern Egypt to Develop Eco-Friendly Industrial Zones
Gamasa and the south of Port Said will be transformed into eco-friendly industrial zones, with support from the World Bank.

At the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt’s Industrial Development Authority is in the process of partnering up with the World Bank to transform Gamasa and the south of Port Said’s industrial zones into eco-friendly districts.
The partnership was initiated as part of the ongoing discourse on green economies in the region and Egypt. The industrial zones are set to become the first eco-friendly zones in Egypt to utilise and incorporate clean energy, in accordance with the Industrial Development Authority’s eco-friendly framework.
