Two-Month Visa Amnesty Programme Implemented Across UAE
The programme will allow illegal residents to regularise their status or depart the country without any legal penalties.
The UAE government has announced the implementation of a two-month visa amnesty programme to allow illegal residents to regularise their status or depart the country without any legal penalties. The decision took effect on September 1st and will run until October 30th.
The amnesty will apply to all visa types including tourist and residential visas, but will not apply to those who entered the country illegally. Those deciding to depart during this time will not be subject to any exit taxes or overstay fines, nor any entry bans.
In order to facilitate the process, visa processing centres across the country have extended their service times, with many now running from 7 AM to 10 PM daily. The extension of service hours also includes Sundays in many cases.
