UAE Citizens Can Now Renew Their ID in One Step
The updated system removes previously required fields such as personal addresses, instead using existing database information to simplify and speed up applications.

UAE citizens can now renew or replace their Emirates ID cards through a streamlined, single-step process introduced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP). The updated system removes previously required fields such as personal addresses, instead using existing database information to simplify and speed up applications. The Emirates ID template is now displayed on a single page in order to make submissions more straightforward.
The validity of the Emirates ID card depends on the applicant’s age. Citizens aged 21 and above receive cards valid for 10 years, while those under 21 are issued five-year cards upon renewal. Replacement cards will match the remaining validity period of the existing ID, and applicants cannot alter this duration.
