UAE Cuts Work Permit Processing Time to 5 Days with New Platform
The new platform dramatically streamlines the process for work permits and residency visas, reducing the wait time from 30 days to just five.
The UAE has significantly reduced the time required to process work permits and residency visas, cutting it from 30 days to just five days. This expedited process is part of the second phase of the Work Bundle platform, launched on Tuesday.
The Work Bundle platform is the result of a collaborative effort by several government ministries and federal authorities. It aims to streamline the hiring process for business owners and private companies, making it easier to onboard new employees. The platform also allows for the pre-renewal of work permits for existing employees, further simplifying administrative procedures.
Initially launched in Dubai in April, the first phase of Work Bundle is now being implemented across all seven emirates. The second phase is expected to benefit approximately 600,000 companies and more than seven million workers.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that the third phase of the Work Bundle will extend its services to domestic workers. This future expansion will further enhance the platform's reach and impact.
Currently, the Work Bundle platform can be accessed via its website, workinuae.ae, with a mobile app slated for release soon. This development underscores the UAE's commitment to improving efficiency and convenience for businesses and workers alike.
