The UAE men’s rugby team took gold at the 10th Arab Rugby Sevens Championship in Alexandria, Egypt, pulling off a 14-7 win over Morocco in the finals.

The tournament was played in the Rugby Sevens format, a faster, shorter version of the game with just seven players per team. This year, 16 teams took part, 10 in the men’s competition and six in the women’s, with Egypt securing third place after a 17-0 win over Libya.

In the women’s competition, the UAE team came away with bronze after putting up 27 points against Lebanon, who only managed seven.
