UAE Schools Following Ministry Curriculum to Enforce Smartphone Ban
The new policy aims to enhance student safety, privacy, and overall well-being by eliminating potential distractions.

The Ministry of Education has just enforced a strict ban on mobile phones in public and private schools following its curriculum, aiming to enhance student safety, privacy, and overall well-being by eliminating potential distractions.
The new policy prohibits students and parents from bringing phones onto school campuses, with violations leading to immediate confiscation. First-time offenders will have their phones held for a month, while repeat violations will result in confiscation until the academic year ends. Additionally, unauthorized photos of teachers, students, or staff on confiscated devices will lead to referral to the “Child Rights Unit.”
In order to enforce the new ban, schools are conducting inspections with non-compliance by institutions resulting in administrative penalties.
