Harrow International School Dubai to Open in September
Harrow International School Dubai is set to open in September with a 50,000-square-metre campus designed to accommodate up to 2,000 students.
Harrow International School Dubai is set to open in September with around 400 students enrolled across Foundation Stage to Year 6, marking the British institution's first campus in the Middle East.
Located in Jumeirah Village Circle, the 50,000-square-metre campus has capacity for up to 2,000 students at full enrolment. An Abu Dhabi branch is expected to follow within the next year.
Operated by UAE education group Taaleem, the co-educational campus has been designed using neuro-architecture principles, with an emphasis on natural light, airflow and acoustics. The school will initially offer four classes per year group, with class sizes capped at 18 students in Foundation Stage, 20 in Years 1 and 2, and 22 in Years 3 to 6. The number of classes is expected to expand to seven per year group over time.
Facilities include three swimming pools, a gym, fitness suites and a yoga suite. A communal, screen-free dining area overlooking the playing fields has been positioned at the centre of the campus.
The curriculum will include classical languages such as Latin and ancient Greek, with plans to offer both subjects through to GCSE and A-Level. Co-curricular activities including fencing, music and martial arts will be included in tuition fees, with students expected to complete homework and extracurricular activities before returning home.
Admissions will be non-selective. A temporary cap will apply to students of determination during the school's first year while its specialist support department becomes fully operational.
