UAE Summons Iranian Ambassador Over Escalating Attacks

The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Iran’s ambassador in Abu Dhabi, Reza Ameri, and handed him a formal protest over what it described as Iranian “terrorist attacks” on its territory, according to an official announcement released early on Monday.
During the meeting, Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar said the UAE condemns the strikes “in the strongest terms,” calling them a blatant violation of its sovereignty and a threat to national security. He rejected what he described as Tehran’s attempts to justify the escalation, particularly attacks that targeted civilian sites — including residential areas, airports, ports and service facilities.
Al Marar said the strikes endangered civilians and ignored the UAE’s stated position that its territory would not be used for any military action against Iran.
The UAE has demanded an immediate and unconditional halt to the attacks, stressing that it reserves the right to respond within the bounds of international law.
