UAE Takes Part in Rio de Janeiro Book Biennial
The UAE, through the Emirates Publishers Association and Sharjah Book Authority, is participating until June 22nd to promote cultural exchange and highlight its expanding role in global publishing.

The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) and the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) are participating in the Rio de Janeiro International Book Biennial, which runs through June 22nd, as part of ongoing efforts to promote Arab literature, intercultural dialogue, and regional publishing expertise on the global stage.
Following earlier engagement at the Buenos Aires International Book Fair, both organisations are continuing their cultural outreach in South America by participating in several industry events at the Rio Biennial. These include the 6th Professional Journey of Brazilian Publishers, the Rio International Publishers Summit, and the PublishHer Summit, which focuses on empowering women in publishing.
At the Professional Journey of Brazilian Publishers, representatives from the EPA and Ghaf Publishing took part in meetings with international publishers and literary agents to discuss copyright sales and translation agreements. The event facilitated negotiations worth an estimated USD 900,000.
Through these initiatives, the EPA and SBA aim to boost international access to Arab literature, strengthen co-publishing and translation networks, and deepen the visibility of Emirati and Arab narratives in global markets.
