USD 186 Million Construction Facility Unveiled for NEOMs The Line
The plant will create more than 500 local jobs, and feature advanced carbon capture and utilisation technology.
NEOM has announced a partnership with Asas Al-Mohileb, a Saudi construction and engineering firm, to establish and operate a green concrete plant valued at SAR 700 million (USD 186 million) to help construct The Line. This state-of-the-art facility will have the capacity to produce over 20,000 cubic metres of concrete per day.
Operations are slated to commence in November 2024, with peak production expected to begin early in 2025. The plant will create more than 500 local jobs and will feature advanced carbon capture and utilisation technology, along with energy-efficient solutions.
This announcement comes in the wake of progress in the construction of The Line, a smart city giga-project where concrete serves as a fundamental material for both the substructure and superstructure. The first phase of The Line is scheduled to open in 2030 and is being developed in modular stages. To date, nearly 1,000 foundation piles have been installed out of the more than 30,000 planned.
