Former France striker Alexandre Lacazette has signed for Saudi Pro League club Neom following the end of his contract with Lyon. The 34-year-old forward links up with former teammate Said Benrahma as the club prepares for its debut season in the top flight after promotion from the Saudi second tier.
Lacazette rejoined Lyon in 2022 after a five-year stint at Arsenal and departs as the second-highest goalscorer in the club’s history, with 201 goals across all competitions. His move marks another addition for Neom as they strengthen their squad ahead of their first season in the Pro League.
The club also confirmed the signing of Ivorian midfielder Amadou Kone from French side Reims on June 30th. Neom’s recent signings come as part of their push to establish a competitive presence in Saudi Arabia’s increasingly high-profile league.
Lacazette earned over 15 caps for France and was part of the national team set-up in the late 2010s. Founded as part of the futuristic NEOM city project, the club has gained attention for its rapid ascent through the Saudi football ranks.
