USD 5 Million Allocated to Support Sudan Humanitarian Fund With UN

The United Arab Emirates has signed an agreement with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) to allocate USD 5 million to the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF). This contribution is part of a broader USD 70 million commitment aimed at addressing urgent humanitarian needs in Sudan through various UN agencies and humanitarian organisations.

The USD 70 million is a substantial portion of the USD 100 million pledge made by the UAE in April at the International Humanitarian Conference for Sudan and Neighbouring Countries. This latest contribution takes the total amount of UAE aid to Sudan over the past decade to more than USD 3.5 billion.

The UAE’s contribution to the Sudan Humanitarian Fund, managed by OCHA, will facilitate access to essential funds to address the most critical humanitarian needs and emergencies on the ground. This initiative aligns with the annual Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP).
