Umrah Performances Exceed 14.8 Million in Rajab
Officials cited digital facilitation and integrated logistical services that streamlined travel procedures across planning, arrival, rituals and departure.
Umrah performances by pilgrims from inside and outside Saudi Arabia exceeded 14.8 million during the Islamic month of Rajab, according to official statistics released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
The data shows that more than two million Umrah performers arrived from outside the Kingdom during Rajab, representing pilgrims from across the Islamic world and other regions. The remaining performances were carried out by residents and visitors already within Saudi Arabia, contributing to the overall rise in numbers recorded for the month.
Officials attributed the increase to ongoing efforts to develop the Hajj, Umrah and visitation system in line with Saudi Vision 2030. These efforts include measures to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques and to provide a comprehensive spiritual experience that prioritises comfort and safety from the planning stage through to departure.
Authorities also highlighted the role of digital facilitation and integrated logistical services in streamlining travel procedures and enabling pilgrims to perform rituals with greater ease. Joint initiatives between the ministry and the authority continue to focus on improving service quality within the Two Holy Mosques and across all stages of the pilgrim journey.
