World’s Biggest Programming Competition ICPC Lands in Sharm El Sheikh

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), one of the oldest and largest programming competitions in the world, will hold its 2023 World Finals in Sharm El Sheikh this November.

With universities from 115 countries competing for the grand prize of USD 15,000, the upcoming edition will be supported by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, which has been a regional hub for the ICPC since 2007.

Since it was founded at Texas A&M University in 1977, the ICPC has been a space to foster creativity and innovation for university students around the globe. Known as the ‘Olympics of Programming Competitions’, the ICPC offers thousands of dollars in prize money to its winners, as well as recognition and prestige for its participants, with stand-out competitors often receiving job offers from major software companies.
