The luxury sleeper train will begin operating on Friday, January 27th.
If you’ve ever dreamed of a first-class train ride to Luxor, lying comfortably in your seat as you watch the desert and the farmland pass by, then you may want to clear out your schedule this weekend. Talgo, a luxury sleeper train, will officially begin operations on the Cairo-Luxor line this Friday, January 27th.
The train is currently performing experimental runs without passengers on the Upper Egypt line.
The Ministry of Transport contracted the Spanish company to supply seven luxury trains worth EUR 157 million to Egypt. The first of these has already been operating on the Cairo-Alexandria line since December 2022.
