Karnal Cevicheria is Serving Ceviche on a Nile Felucca
A Nile cruise with Peruvian ceviche, anyone? Karnal is taking its seafood pop-ups out onto the water.
Ceviche on the Nile might not be your usual Cairo dining plan, but Karnal Cevicheria is making a case for taking lunch out onto the water. The pop-up concept, led by Chef Abdelrahman Mostafa, brings a special ceviche menu aboard a felucca, setting off from Maadi’s Corniche for a food experience with a different kind of backdrop.
Mostafa’s cooking draws on his experience working in kitchens across several countries, from Croatia to Mexico, including time spent along Mexico’s Pacific Coast and aboard a yacht. That international background comes through in Karnal’s focus on ceviche, a dish with Peruvian origins and a history stretching back around a thousand years. The menu features a range of seafood creations, with the shrimp and mango ceviche standing out as a particular favourite.
Karnal announces its upcoming dates through its Instagram page, so keep an eye out for the next sailing.
