Egyptian comedy film ‘Bershama’ is set to release across Gulf markets starting April 2nd, following a strong box office run in Egypt.
The rollout will cover Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Oman, with distribution handled by Sky Limit, Film Square and Orient Films.
Led by Hisham Maged and Riham Abdel Ghafour, the film also stars Mostafa Gharib and Hatem Salah, alongside a supporting cast including Bassem Samra, Arefa Abdel Rasoul, Faten Saeed, Kamal Abu Ria, Michel Milad and Fadwa Abed.
In Egypt, ‘Bershama’ recorded total box office revenues of EGP 119,621,460. The film set a new record for opening-week admissions in Egyptian cinema history with 800,000 tickets sold, and achieved the highest single-day gross on March 22nd, generating more than EGP 23 million.
Directed by Khaled Diab and written by Ahmed El Zoghby, Shereen Diab and Khaled Diab, the film unfolds over the course of a national secondary school Arabic exam inside a single committee hall.
