GCC Launches Platform Hosting 24,700 Legal Documents
The platform provides access to unified Gulf laws and national legislative frameworks.
A new digital platform designed to strengthen legislative coordination and integration among Gulf Cooperation Council member states has been launched at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.
Known as the Unified Gulf Legislation Platform, the system is intended to facilitate the exchange of legal expertise and improve access to both unified Gulf legislation and national legal frameworks.
According to the Gulf Cooperation Council, the platform currently contains more than 24,700 legal and legislative documents and offers advanced search tools for government entities, legal specialists, researchers and individuals interested in legislative affairs.
The system is designed to serve as a comprehensive electronic reference for legal and legislative work across the Gulf, enabling users to retrieve information quickly and efficiently.
The integration of national legislation into the platform is being implemented in phases.
Bahrain and Oman are included in the first stage, with efforts under way to incorporate the legal frameworks of the remaining member states in subsequent phases.
The GCC said the phased rollout is intended to expand the platform's coverage and support the development of a more integrated legislative framework across the region, while providing additional resources for researchers, specialists and decision-makers.
