Two Egyptian Shorts Selected For GFF 2026

Two Egyptian short films, Disquiet by Mariam Abdelgaber and My Village Blamed Women for the End of Mankind by Jad Chahine, have been selected for the ninth edition of El Gouna Film Festival, running from October 15th to 23rd. Disquiet stars Jordanian star Rakeen Saad and Mennha El Batrawy. Meanwhile My Village Blamed Women for the End of Mankind stars Aziz AL Gazzar and Heba Khayal.

They join a shorts programme featuring 17 films representing 28 countries, with the full selection spanning a range of stories and filmmaking voices from across the world.
