How Style Design Turned Shipping Containers Into a Wellness Office

How Style Design Turned Shipping Containers Into a Wellness Office

Tucked into the edge of Zed Park in Sheikh Zayed, the headquarters of Ora Property Managment (OPM) offers something unexpected: a fully functional office made entirely of recycled shipping containers.

But don’t expect the typical industrial vibe that comes with container spaces. Designed by Hisham Ghorab, Co-Founder of Style Design, this project challenges that aesthetic, delivering something cleaner, softer, and deeply intentional.

Shelted by a shading system that throws OPM’s logo in shadows across the floor, the outdoor courtyard anchors the entire experience. It’s where the day starts. Staff gather for meetings or solo work. Conversations take place on stools, benches, or long communal tables.

The containers - twelve clusters in total - are arranged around this core, creating what Ghorab calls a ‘living community’.

”We wanted to design something that felt open, social, and rooted in nature,” he tells SceneHome. “Everything here supports wellness - physical and mental.”

The design doesn’t try to disguise the containers but builds on their modularity to foster flexibility. Every office has outdoor access. Upstairs, leafy decks double as breakout zones. Downstairs, shaded spots offer places to pause.

People can move their furniture, meet clients in the courtyard, or just sit and work in the sun. And the sun is everywhere.

The offices are bathed in daylight. Team members can look across at colleagues above or below, creating a constant visual connection. “You’re not isolated here,” Ghorab says. “That helps communication. It helps everything.”

The details matter. From the custom shading element to the deliberate staggering of containers, the design feels considered. This isn’t shipping containers used for the sake of trend - it’s a form shaped to function. The result is an office that feels equal parts workspace and retreat.

When you’re on campus, it’s easy to forget that you’re inside an office made from repurposed metal boxes. What you remember instead are the trees. The light. The sense of calm. And the idea that maybe, just maybe, the best kind of office is the one that makes you want to stay after work.
