Chef Aiman is Dubai’s Newest AI-Generated Culinary Mind

There’s a new chef in town. He doesn’t yell, doesn’t plate with tweezers, and has never once cried in a walk-in fridge. His name is Chef Aiman, and he’s not real- not in the traditional sense, anyway.

Launching this September near the Burj Khalifa, WOOHOO is a restaurant operated by humans, but orchestrated entirely by AI. The menus, flavour pairings, and even the ambience are designed by Aiman, a culinary large-language model trained on decades of food science, global gastronomy, and the kind of molecular data actual chefs probably don't want to talk about.

Aiman (short for "AI + man", obviously) breaks food down into data - texture, acidity, fat, umami - and reassembles it into combinations that are unexpectedly on point. His flavour experiments are handed off to human chefs, who taste, tweak, and report back, creating a functional feedback loop between man and machine.

The goal? Not to replace chefs. Just to outthink them a little.

Helmed by Gastronaut CEO Ahmet Oytun Cakir and developed with input from Dubai’s own Reif Othman, WOOHOO also aims to cut kitchen waste by designing recipes that use the bits most kitchens throw out - meat trimmings, veggie ends, rendered fat. It’s food with less guilt, more tech, and possibly a built-in algorithm for umami.

So if you’ve ever wanted to eat something designed by a being who knows everything about cooking except what hunger feels like, this is your moment.
