Emirates-XRG Debuts World’s First AI Helmet at Tour de France
UAE’s Emirates-XRG Pro Cycling Team has launched the world’s first AI-designed helmet at the Tour de France, created with Amazon Web Services to enhance safety, aerodynamics, and performance.

The UAE-based Emirates-XRG Pro Cycling Team has revealed the world’s first AI-designed helmet during the 2025 Tour de France. Developed in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the helmet uses advanced data analytics and machine learning to improve aerodynamics, cooling, and safety.
The helmet was custom-built to match the rider’s posture, body shape, and position on the bike, maximising both speed and comfort. According to AWS executives, the design incorporated real-world performance data to refine airflow patterns and thermal regulation.
The team says this innovation not only provides a competitive edge but sets a new benchmark in the integration of AI in sports engineering. The helmet is part of a broader partnership between AWS and Emirates-XRG focused on using technology to optimise elite athletic performance.
