AI Parking Enforcement Introduced at Dubai Mall Sites
Parkin and Emaar are rolling out AI-driven enforcement across major malls to regulate parking use and protect designated spaces.
AI-driven parking enforcement is being introduced across major retail destinations in Dubai under a multi-year agreement between Parkin Company, a firm managing public parking infrastructure in the emirate, and Emaar Properties. The rollout will cover Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, and Dubai Marina Mall, where Parkin will provide enforcement services aimed at improving traffic flow, optimising parking usage, and protecting dedicated bays for People of Determination.
The system will rely on Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology to monitor designated parking spaces. Vehicles will be scanned to verify permits, with potential violations flagged for review before penalties are issued. A short grace period will be applied to reduce accidental misuse. The rollout also includes on-ground inspections to support compliance with local parking regulations, combining automated monitoring with field enforcement.
Officials said the initiative is designed to improve accessibility and ensure that designated parking spaces remain available for those who require them, while also supporting more efficient use of parking facilities across high-traffic retail locations.
Parkin currently manages around 229,000 paid parking spaces across Dubai and is expanding its operations beyond public parking through partnerships with developers and retail operators, focusing on smart mobility and enforcement systems.
