Abu Dhabi Launches New Commercial Mediation Centre

A new Commercial Mediation Centre has been established at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry to oversee mediation and alternative dispute resolution for commercial conflicts in Abu Dhabi.

The centre will operate within the chamber’s administrative and financial structure while remaining under the judicial supervision and oversight of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

According to the framework outlined in Resolution No. 28 of 2026, the centre will manage formal mediation proceedings between disputing parties through an institutional structure intended to support amicable and cost-effective settlement of corporate disputes.

The centre’s responsibilities will include court-referred mediation, consensual mediation, and additional alternative dispute resolution mechanisms presented before it.

It will also provide mediation services for both domestic and international commercial disputes in line with UAE laws, the centre’s internal regulations, and procedures agreed upon by participating parties.

The framework is intended to encourage wider use of mediation as a faster mechanism for resolving business disputes while reinforcing procedural fairness, governance, and neutrality.

Settlement agreements reached through the centre will be referred to a supervising judge for ratification, giving them the legal status of executory instruments enforceable under the UAE Federal Civil Procedures Law.

The centre will be headquartered at the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s main premises, with the ability to open additional branches across the emirate in the future.
