Aramex & Netzero Launch Smart Tree Initiative in Saudi Arabia

Dubai-headquartered logistics company Aramex has partnered with Saudi environmental technology company Netzero to launch a smart tree sustainability initiative across the Riyadh and Jeddah Industrial Cities in Saudi Arabia.

The initiative will establish green spaces in targeted urban and industrial zones through the planting of Neem and Poinciana trees, both selected for their resilience in desert conditions.

The species were chosen for their ability to improve soil quality, provide shade and enhance air quality in areas with dense operational activity.

According to Aramex, all planted trees will be digitally tracked and independently verified through Netzero’s afforestation platform, which monitors the full lifecycle of each tree from planting and maintenance to carbon-sequestration estimation.

Netzero’s Nabatik system creates auditable digital records of afforestation activity using locally developed artificial intelligence and machine-learning tools.

The system is designed to provide real-time environmental impact data and support independent verification of carbon-offset reporting.

Abdulaziz Abdullah Al-Nowaiser, General Manager of Aramex in Saudi Arabia, said the initiative forms part of the company’s wider environmental, social and governance strategy as well as Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Saudi Green Initiative goals.

He added that the partnership aims to provide “transparent, real-time evidence” of environmental impact through continuous digital tracking and verification.

Founded in Saudi Arabia in 2019, Netzero specialises in smart afforestation technologies and environmental impact tracking.

The partnership aligns with the Saudi Green Initiative’s target to plant 10 billion trees across the Kingdom.
