CIB, Majid Al Futtaim & Visa Launch a Card that haggles for you
CIB, SHARE BY Majid Al Futtaim and Visa launch the CIB SHARE Visa Credit Card, Offering up to 8% cashback in SHARE points across 3,500+ stores and 4 Malls.
A fairly ordinary Cairo weekend can now involve an impressive number of transactions. There is Carrefour for the groceries, Mall of Egypt or City Centre for whatever you went there to buy before becoming distracted, VOX Cinemas for the film, Magic Planet for the children, and, should the weather outside prove insufficiently wintry, Ski Egypt.
CIB, SHARE by Majid Al Futtaim and Visa have taken notice of this particular pattern of consumption. The three have partnered on the CIB SHARE Visa Credit Card, a new co-branded card that connects everyday card spending with Majid Al Futtaim’s SHARE app.
The mechanics begin inside the MAF ecosystem - purchases made anywhere using the card collect SHARE points. Within Majid Al Futtaim’s network, the percentages become more substantial. Depending on whether the card is Rewards, Platinum or Signature, spending can earn up to 4%, 6% or 8% cashback in SHARE points and cashback across all stores, brands, and experiences at Mall of Egypt, City Centre Almaza, City Centre Maadi and City Centre Alexandria, as well as Carrefour, VOX Cinemas, Ski Egypt, and Magic Planet.
There are other numbers attached. New cardholders can receive up to EGP 5,000 in welcome SHARE points according to how much they spend during their first two months, while monthly cashback can reach EGP 8,000.
The less numerical perks reveal more about the sort of life the card has been designed around: complimentary VOX tickets and popcorn, Ski Egypt discounts, free Magic Planet Blue Swiper games and a dedicated fast lane at Carrefour.
Taken together, it is an unusually comprehensive map of how leisure and errands increasingly overlap in Cairo: the supermarket shop, the cinema, the children’s afternoon and the accidental three-hour mall visit, now connected by the same card.
