Ceer to Unveil Its First Electric Sedan & SUV on September 21st

Saudi electric vehicle manufacturer Ceer will unveil its first flagship models, an electric sedan and SUV, on September 21st as the company moves from development towards production.

Established in 2022 as a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund and Foxconn, Ceer has been building its manufacturing and engineering operations as part of Saudi Arabia’s broader push to develop a domestic automotive industry.

Ceer says it handles vehicle design, engineering, sourcing, validation and manufacturing, with plans to begin sales and servicing in the near future. Its workforce has grown from 20 employees to around 2,300.

The company has also secured partnerships with international automotive and industrial firms including BMW, Hyundai Transys, Rimac, Siemens, Sabelt, Isoclima, ANDRITZ Schuler, Dürr and XYG. These partnerships support Ceer’s target of reaching 45% local content by 2034.

Ceer is developing a manufacturing complex in Saudi Arabia with a production target of 170,000 vehicles annually. The company has said its operations are expected to contribute around SR 30 billion, or approximately USD 8 billion, to Saudi GDP, improve the trade balance by SR 80 billion and create around 30,000 jobs.

Saudis are expected to account for 80% of direct employment at Ceer. The company also forms part of a wider PIF-backed electric vehicle ecosystem that includes investment in manufacturing, technology, infrastructure and supply chains.
