Commercial Franchise Registrations Rise 53% in Saudi Arabia

Commercial franchise registrations in Saudi Arabia increased by 53% during the first nine months of 2026, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

The total number of registrations rose from 4,227 at the end of 2025 to 6,484 by the end of the third quarter of 2026. The sectors recording the highest number of franchise registrations included food and beverages, fuel and petroleum, and fashion and apparel.

The Ministry of Commerce said the Commercial Franchise Law has supported growth in the sector by regulating franchise activity, improving transparency and protecting the rights of franchisors and franchisees.

The ministry added that the regulatory framework is intended to support investment, improve the quality of goods and services, and strengthen the sustainability and expansion of commercial franchise businesses.
