The web-based guide brings together religious sites, heritage locations and trip planning resources.
The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites has launched ‘Discover Makkah’, a digital platform designed as a comprehensive guide to Makkah and its surrounding holy sites.
The web-based platform provides information on key religious landmarks, heritage locations and visitor attractions, with content available in both Arabic and English.
Users can explore sites including Al Masjid Al Haram, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, alongside historical and cultural destinations such as Jabal Al Nour and Ghar Hira, Jabal Al Thawr and Ayn Zubaydah.
The platform organises destinations into categories including historical sites, heritage mosques, enrichment sites and natural areas, while also highlighting venues such as the Hira Cultural District, the Exhibition of the Two Holy Mosques Architecture and the Holy Quran Museum.
Discover Makkah includes an interactive map and downloadable guides, alongside sections covering experiences, events, accommodation, dining, shopping and locally made products under “Makkah Originals.
Additional tools support trip planning, with information on visas, transport, healthcare, language, currency, communications and visitor guidelines.
The platform also provides access to licensed tour guides, tour operators and a downloadable travel handbook.
The initiative is presented as a service by the Destination Management Office, forming part of broader efforts to streamline visitor access to information on Makkah’s religious, cultural and tourism offerings.
