More Than 11.2 Million Pilgrims Performed Umrah in Late 2025
December saw the highest number of overseas Umrah performers, according to official data.
More than 11.2 million people performed Umrah in Saudi Arabia during the fourth quarter of 2025, according to figures released by the General Authority for Statistics.
A total of 11,291,326 pilgrims performed Umrah during the period, including 5,701,525 arrivals from outside the Kingdom and 5,589,801 pilgrims from within Saudi Arabia.
Men accounted for 56.8% of all pilgrims, or around 6.4 million people, while women represented 43.2%, or approximately 4.9 million. Among international pilgrims, women formed the majority, making up 53% of arrivals.
Within Saudi Arabia, 53.2% of domestic pilgrims were non-Saudi residents, while Saudi citizens accounted for the remaining 46.8%.
The Makkah Region recorded the highest number of domestic pilgrims at 2,002,701, followed by the Riyadh Region with 1,146,451.
December was the busiest month for international arrivals, with 2,142,252 people travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
Among domestic pilgrims, November recorded the highest monthly total at 2,059,838.
Only 2.9% of pilgrims performed Umrah more than once during the quarter.
Air travel remained the dominant mode of entry for overseas pilgrims, with 4,976,861 arrivals entering the Kingdom by air.
By age group, people aged 55 to 64 accounted for the largest share of international pilgrims at 18.9%, while those aged 25 to 34 represented the largest segment among domestic pilgrims, at 26.6%.
In addition to visiting Makkah, 5,722,584 people travelled to Madinah during the quarter, including 3,846,284 visitors from abroad.
