Dubai Committee Reviews Foster Care System Expansion
The meeting focused on improving coordination and child protection processes.
The Community Development Authority in Dubai convened the third meeting of the Foster Families Committee to review and strengthen the alternative care system for children. The session brought together representatives from Dubai Police, Dubai Health, the Ministry of Education, Dubai Public Prosecution and the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.
Chaired by Abdulaziz Al Hammadi, the meeting included a review of the committee’s 2026 report, alongside discussions on operational challenges, opportunities and updates to procedures.
The committee is responsible for reviewing applications from prospective foster families, verifying eligibility against legal requirements, issuing placement decisions and conducting ongoing follow-up to support children’s stability. It also reviews special cases, including changes in family circumstances, and evaluates reports submitted by social specialists.
Participants were recognised for their contributions, followed by a tour of Al Usra Village.
