Dubai Municipality Introduces AI-Powered Virtual Spokesperson
'Saeed' will communicate service updates and answer enquiries in four languages.
Dubai Municipality has introduced 'Saeed', an AI-powered virtual spokesperson designed to communicate the entity's services, projects and announcements through digital channels.
Powered by generative artificial intelligence, Saeed will serve as the municipality's digital face, providing updates and information in Arabic, English, Urdu and Chinese.
He will appear across social media platforms, the municipality's website and awareness videos, with broader deployment planned across customer touchpoints.
Designed with Emirati facial features and dressed in official national attire, Saeed was given a name associated with happiness in Arabic.
The avatar speaks in a clear Arabic voice and can adjust his tone depending on the nature of the message, whether related to awareness campaigns, service updates or seasonal events.
According to the municipality, Saeed draws exclusively on official data and is intended to simulate natural interactions while simplifying complex information and maintaining consistent messaging across platforms.
In addition to handling frequently asked questions and promoting public facilities, initiatives and events, the virtual spokesperson will support digital tours and guide users through new amenities and recreational spaces.
Plans are also in place to integrate Saeed into the municipality's Hayakom customer service centres, where he will provide real-time responses to enquiries and function as a round-the-clock digital front desk.
Internally, the AI avatar will be used to share updates with employees, communicate success stories and provide guidance on procedures, while also serving as a virtual responder for staff enquiries.
