Dubai Offers At-Home Interviews for People of Determination
Victims and witnesses with disabilities can be interviewed at home or in dedicated spaces at partner organisations.
People of determination who are victims or witnesses in criminal cases in Dubai can be interviewed at home under the ‘Niabat Al Dar’ initiative run by Dubai Public Prosecution.
First Advocate General Dr Mohammed Al Hammadi said a public prosecutor and investigation clerk can visit a person’s residence with the equipment needed to conduct the interview, removing the need to travel to prosecution offices.
The service can also be arranged at partner organisations, including hospitals with dedicated interview spaces. Support is tailored to the individual, with sign-language interpreters available for people with hearing disabilities and specially trained prosecutors handling interviews with people who have intellectual disabilities, including autistic people.
Al Hammadi said the initiative was launched around five years ago and was being highlighted at AccessAbilities Expo 2026 rather than newly introduced. He added that Dubai Public Prosecution had received recognition from the International Association of Prosecutors for the service.
AccessAbilities Expo runs from October 19th to 21st at Dubai World Trade Centre.
