Dubai Private School Inspections to Resume in 2026–27

Quality assurance visits to Dubai's private schools will resume during the 2026–27 academic year, with schools receiving no more than 24 hours' notice before inspectors arrive. The programme, overseen by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), follows a pause in inspections during the 2025–26 academic year.
According to the authority, the short-notice approach is intended to provide a more accurate picture of everyday school life and generate feedback based on normal operating conditions rather than preparations made specifically for inspections. Under the revised framework, schools may receive one of two types of visits.
The first is a full inspection conducted by a team of specialist experts using the UAE School Inspection Framework. These visits will result in a comprehensive report and an overall school rating. Schools completing their third year of operation will automatically undergo a full inspection as their first formal assessment.
The second is a shorter monitoring visit carried out by a smaller inspection team. These reviews will focus on specific areas identified through data analysis and will conclude with a report outlining strengths and recommendations, but without assigning a new overall rating.
The authority stated that the programme is intended to support school improvement, strengthen student outcomes and wellbeing, and provide parents with greater confidence in education standards.
