UAE Sets August 31st Start for 2026–2027 Academic Year

The 2026–2027 academic year in the UAE will begin on August 31st, 2026 and conclude on July 2nd, 2027, according to the Ministry of Education. The calendar sets the winter break from December 14th, 2026 to January 1st, 2027, while the spring break is scheduled between April 5th and April 9th, 2027.
The schedule applies to all public schools and private schools implementing the national curriculum. Education authorities indicated that flexibility may be granted to private schools following other curricula, allowing them to adjust term structures in line with their requirements.
Private schools not following the national curriculum may divide a mid-term break across October and February, provided the total duration does not exceed five school days.
Officials said the calendar is designed to provide a structured framework for the academic year, balancing study periods and holidays while supporting planning across the education system.
