Dubai Taxi to Acquire National Taxi in AED 1.45 Billion Deal

Dubai Taxi Company has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire National Taxi for AED 1.45 billion, marking its first expansion into Abu Dhabi while increasing its market share in Dubai. According to company disclosures, the transaction will be financed entirely through new bank debt facilities without issuing new shares, meaning existing shareholders will not face equity dilution. The deal is expected to close during the early third quarter of 2026 pending regulatory approvals.
National Taxi currently operates more than 2,500 taxi plates and over 2,700 vehicles across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain. For the 2024–2025 financial year, the company reported AED 774 million in revenue alongside AED 101 million in net income. Following the acquisition, Dubai Taxi Company expects its Dubai market share to rise from 47% to approximately 59%, while also establishing an estimated 12% share in Abu Dhabi’s taxi market.
Combined, the two companies would operate a fleet exceeding 14,000 vehicles and facilitate around 78 million trips annually across the UAE. Dubai Taxi Company also stated that the National Taxi brand will remain active after the acquisition closes, while finance, procurement, and other back-office operations will be integrated into Dubai Taxi Company’s wider operational structure.
