Etihad Rail Launches Abu Dhabi-Dubai Passenger Service
The new route runs 10 times daily, with fares starting at AED 29 and connections to Dubai Metro via Al Yalayis Station.
Etihad Rail has launched regular passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, adding a new inter-city link between Mohammed Bin Zayed City Station and Al Yalayis Station.
The route began operating on September 30th with 10 daily services, while six trains a day are running between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. Trains can travel at speeds of up to 200 kilometres per hour and carry as many as 400 passengers.
In Dubai, Al Yalayis Station connects to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line through a dedicated pedestrian bridge. Passengers can also add a one-day Nol ticket through the Etihad Rail app, with a single QR code used for transfers between the rail and Metro networks.
Fares start at AED 29 for Comfort Class and AED 89 for First Class. Tickets are available through the Etihad Rail app and website, as well as station vending machines.
Onboard facilities include guaranteed seating, complimentary Wi-Fi, charging points and dedicated luggage areas.
The wider passenger network currently includes 11 stations, with further expansion planned. Zayed City and Liwa are due to join on November 30th, followed by Al Dhafra stations on December 30th and Sharjah Station on March 30th, 2027.
