Grand Egyptian Museum Launches ‘Eternal Sun’ Light Show
The 35-minute Grand Hall experience combines projection mapping, music and bilingual storytelling, with tickets from EGP 240.
The Grand Egyptian Museum will mark the first anniversary of its opening on November 1st with the launch of ‘Eternal Sun’, a 35-minute light and music experience staged inside the Grand Hall. Using projection mapping, dynamic lighting and bilingual storytelling, the show takes visitors through 5,000 years of Egyptian heritage after dark.
Tickets are priced at EGP 480 for Egyptian adults and EGP 240 for Egyptian children aged six to 12, with valid ID required on site. Tickets for other nationalities cost EGP 1,500 for adults and EGP 750 for children aged six to 12. Admission to the museum galleries and other separately ticketed experiences is not included.
The experience is open to visitors aged six and above, while guests under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. A sensory advisory is in place due to lasers, flashing and dynamic lighting, loud music and other audiovisual effects, and the show is not suitable for people with epilepsy or sensitivity to flashing lights.
Visitors can take photos and videos using mobile phones, but flash, tripods, selfie sticks, drones and live streaming are prohibited. Dining packages, including a set menu or open buffet before or after the show, can also be added during booking.
Tickets are valid only for the selected date and time and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Visitors adding ‘Eternal Sun’ to a museum admission ticket can leave and return for their scheduled show with valid tickets, while standalone ‘Eternal Sun’ tickets permit single entry only.
