Hajj Vaccination Deadline Set at 10 Days Before Season

Pilgrims preparing for Hajj are required to complete recommended vaccinations at least 10 days before the start of the season, under new guidance issued by the Ministry of Health.

The directive forms part of broader disease prevention measures for one of the world’s largest annual gatherings.

Health officials said early immunisation is intended to ensure an adequate immune response and reduce the risk of infectious disease transmission in crowded conditions.

Recommended vaccines include those for meningococcal disease, COVID-19, and seasonal influenza.

The ministry noted that these can be administered together or separately, depending on medical assessment, and meet approved safety standards for all eligible groups, including pregnant women.

Appointments for vaccinations can be booked through the Sehhaty app under adult immunisation services, which is used to facilitate access and improve uptake ahead of the pilgrimage season.
