Saudi Arabia Railways Transports Over 1.9 Million on Mashair Metro
Operations spanned seven days from Dhul Hijjah 7 to the end of the Days of Tashreeq, covering movements to Arafat, Muzdalifah, Mina and the Jamarat Bridge.
Mashair Metro transported over 1.9 million pilgrims between nine stations across Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina during the 2026 Hajj, completing its operating period across the holy sites during the Hajj days.
The network linked key locations required for the rites, facilitating movement among the three areas via its dedicated stations. The service formed part of the wider transport capacity deployed for the season to move large volumes of pilgrims between the holy sites.
Saudi Arabia Railways said the metro operated 1,800 trips during the period under an integrated operational plan intended to handle high passenger volumes through all movement phases, including transportation to Arafat, transfer to Muzdalifah, movement to Mina, and transportation to the Jamarat Bridge during the Days of Tashreeq.
Operations ran for seven days, beginning on Dhul Hijjah 7, corresponding to May 24th, 2026, and concluding after the completion of pilgrim movements at the end of the Days of Tashreeq on May 30th, 2026.
