Heatwave Continues Across Egypt With Temperatures Reaching 43°C

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has forecast continued hot weather across most parts of the country from Tuesday through Saturday, with daytime temperatures expected to reach 43°C in southern Upper Egypt.

Maximum temperatures are forecast at 37–38°C in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta, 31–33°C along the northern coast, around 40°C in northern Upper Egypt, and 43°C in southern Upper Egypt.

The authority said high humidity will make conditions feel 2–4°C hotter than the recorded air temperatures, increasing heat stress across many regions during the day.

Intermittent strong winds are also expected across much of Egypt from Tuesday through Friday, accompanying the prolonged period of high temperatures.

The forecast also includes morning fog on some roads in northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, central Sinai and northern Upper Egypt, where visibility may be reduced during the early hours.

The EMA advised residents to take precautions during periods of intense heat, particularly in southern parts of the country where temperatures are expected to remain highest throughout the forecast period.
