Insurance Expanded Across All Emirates Health Services Facilities
Emirates Health Services has broadened insurance access across its network, supported by digital approvals and integrated systems.
Insurance coverage has been expanded across all Emirates Health Services (EHS) facilities in the UAE, following agreements with more than 20 accredited insurance companies. The move allows insured citizens and residents to access care across the provider’s network of 17 hospitals and 61 primary healthcare centres, shifting beyond a single insurer or limited network model.
EHS said the initiative is designed to broaden access to government healthcare while streamlining the patient journey. The system includes automated approval processes and direct electronic integration with insurers, enabling approvals to be processed within minutes depending on coverage policies.
Officials said facilities are already operating under the expanded system, with staff and infrastructure in place to manage increased patient access while maintaining service continuity. The rollout forms part of a wider plan to improve healthcare accessibility and operational efficiency, supported by ongoing development of digital systems across appointment booking, treatment and follow-up services.
As part of the update, EHS introduced additional digital services, including the ability to book elastography imaging appointments through online platforms. Virtual consultations are also available for communicable disease services at public health centres and at selected hospitals via the provider’s application and patient portal.
Patients can request medical reports following primary healthcare visits through digital channels, while hospital report requests continue to follow existing procedures.
