Kawn Brings Radisson to West Cairo for the First Time
The hospitality group will operate the hotel and serviced apartments within Elaf's mixed-use project in 6th of October City.
Elaf Developments, an Egyptian real estate developer based in Sheikh Zayed City, has partnered with Radisson Hotel Group to operate the hotel and serviced apartments at its mixed-use Kawn development in 6th of October City.
The agreement marks Radisson's first project in West Cairo. The Belgium-headquartered hospitality group currently operates one hotel in Cairo, in Heliopolis, alongside properties in Alexandria and the Red Sea.
Kawn is planned as a mixed-use destination comprising commercial and administrative spaces, medical clinics, serviced apartments and hospitality facilities. Elaf said the partnership with Radisson is intended to strengthen the project's hospitality offering ahead of its scheduled completion in 2028.
"Partnering with internationally recognized firms reflects the company's vision of developing integrated destinations that combine quality, innovation, and long-term investment value," Mohamed Ghaly, Chairman of Elaf Developments, said.
Alongside the Radisson agreement, Elaf announced several other partnerships supporting the project's development. JLL Egypt, the local arm of global real estate advisory firm JLL, has been appointed real estate investment management consultant, while Moharram Bakhoum will oversee structural and construction consultancy. Architectural and design consultancy has been awarded to RAY Designs, led by architect Hisham Bahaa Elsin.
“Collaborating with globally respected names such as these further strengthens the project’s market positioning as it enters its execution phase,” Ahmed Zayed, CCO of Elaf Development, said.
Located with direct access to the 26th of July Corridor and Gamal Abdel Nasser Road, Kawn will feature five plazas designed to accommodate retail, offices, healthcare services and hospitality uses.
Founded nearly two decades ago, Elaf Developments has focused much of its portfolio on West Cairo, with projects including Panorama Mall, Cairo Plaza and Vida Residence. Kawn is expected to be delivered in 2028.
