Mubadala Bio Launchs UAE-Made Hemodialysis Solutions

Mubadala Bio, a life sciences company established by Mubadala Investment Company, has launched the UAE's first locally manufactured hemodialysis concentrate solutions, introducing eight hospital-grade products through its Abu Dhabi-based manufacturing subsidiary, Wellpharma.

The solutions are used during hemodialysis, a treatment for patients with kidney failure whose kidneys can no longer effectively remove waste products and excess fluids from the blood. During the procedure, dialysis concentrates help restore electrolyte balance and support the filtration process.

According to Mubadala Bio, manufacturing the products locally is intended to strengthen the domestic supply of essential dialysis therapies while expanding the UAE's pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities. The launch also supports broader efforts to increase local production of critical healthcare products and reduce reliance on imports.

The company said the rollout marks a further step in developing the UAE's life sciences sector and expanding local production across specialised hospital therapies, as Abu Dhabi continues to invest in healthcare manufacturing and pharmaceutical innovation.
