Over 63,000 Saudi Families Bought Their First Homes in H1 2026

More than 63,000 Saudi families moved into their first homes during the first half of 2026, according to the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, as the Kingdom continues efforts to expand homeownership under Vision 2030.

The ministry said 63,076 families took ownership of their first homes between January and June, including 12,004 families in June alone.

During the same period, 48,631 families benefited from government housing support services, with 10,160 beneficiaries recorded in June.

The ministry also announced that the total number of subsidised housing contracts signed since the launch of the Sakani programme in 2017 has reached 1,046,890. The initiative offers a range of housing solutions, including ready-built homes, off-plan properties, self-construction support and residential land, allowing beneficiaries to choose options that best suit their needs and financial circumstances.

According to the ministry, partnerships with private real estate developers continue to expand the Kingdom's housing supply through integrated residential communities equipped with public facilities, services and open spaces, with the aim of creating more sustainable neighbourhoods.

The ministry added that the homeownership rate among Saudi families reached 66.24% by the end of 2025, bringing the Kingdom closer to the Housing Programme's Vision 2030 target of 70%.
