RTA Expands AI-Powered Marine Transport Network in Dubai
Marine transport services in Dubai will begin adjusting schedules dynamically using AI and predictive analytics.
The Roads and Transport Authority is expanding its Seasonal Network for marine public transport through the use of artificial intelligence and predictive analytics designed to adapt services dynamically to passenger demand.
Under the updated system, marine transport schedules will no longer rely solely on fixed timetables. Services will instead adjust in real time based on seasonal demand shifts, public holidays, and major events taking place across the city.
According to the authority, the system is built around a centralised data repository tracking passenger volumes, occupancy levels, and revenue patterns to support operational planning and service adjustments. Customer feedback collected through official channels is also being integrated into service planning alongside data-driven operational analysis.
The updated summer operating plan is scheduled to launch in July and will use predictive modelling to anticipate demand and adjust service intervals accordingly. The authority stated that planners will simulate passenger movement patterns and stress-test schedules against operational scenarios before deployment, while benchmarking performance against international standards.
