Schools across Riyadh will switch to distance learning for one week, with in-person classes suspended and lessons continuing through the Ministry of Education’s Madrasati platform.
The temporary shift applies to students as well as teaching, educational and administrative staff. Schools are notifying parents, students and employees through approved communication channels including email and text messages.
Madrasati provides digital tools aligned with school curricula and is available at no cost. Authorities have also urged families and school staff to follow official updates and comply with safety guidance during the period of remote learning.
The current academic calendar includes an autumn break from November 20th to 28th and a winter break from December 20th to January 9th. Later holidays include Founding Day from February 19th to 22nd, Eid Al-Fitr from February 26th to March 13th and Eid Al-Adha from May 7th to 22nd. The end-of-year holiday begins on June 24th, with the 2027-2028 school year starting on August 22nd.
