Saudi Arabia Automates Conversion to Islam With Digital Card

A new digital service for declaring Islam has been introduced in Saudi Arabia, allowing users to receive a New Muslim card instantly through the Tawakkalna app once their application is approved.

Developed by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, the service automates every stage of the declaration process as part of broader digital transformation efforts aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

The digital card is integrated with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) to support automated verification and data exchange. Once approved, the card appears immediately within the Tawakkalna app, giving beneficiaries a secure digital credential.

Each card includes a QR code that verifies its authenticity and confirms it has been issued by the competent authority. According to the ministry, the project is also intended to improve data quality and generate more accurate reports and statistics to support planning and decision-making.

The ministry said the combination of instant issuance, systems integration and QR code verification is designed to simplify procedures while strengthening the integrity of official records.
