E-Bike Delivery Service Expands to Seven More Areas in Dubai

Dubai's e-bike delivery service has expanded to seven additional areas, bringing total coverage to 11 neighbourhoods following a pilot programme launched by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in February.

The newly added areas are Al Twar 1, Al Twar 2, Al Qusais 1, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Dubai Media City, Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Dubai Marina. They join the four neighbourhoods included in the initial rollout: Al Karama, Al Hamriya, Umm Hurair and Al Mankhool.

According to the RTA, the expansion supports the Commercial and Logistics Land Transport Strategy 2030 and the First and Last-Mile Strategy, which aim to reduce costs, improve sustainability and align delivery operations with international best practices.

The new service areas were selected based on factors including the availability of cycling infrastructure, neighbourhood characteristics, proximity to restaurants and retail outlets, growing business demand and existing use of soft mobility options. The rollout is being carried out in partnership with private-sector delivery operators under agreements governing operating procedures, safety requirements and regulatory compliance.

During the pilot phase, the service recorded around 99% customer satisfaction, while more than 90% of delivery riders reported being satisfied with the programme. The RTA said the trial also helped develop new regulatory solutions to address operational challenges.
